Michael Scott is an urban journalist and technical writer with a passion for downtown, central-city issues. His mission is to serve as a catalyst for the growth and sustainability of urban centers throughout North America.
Michael's work has been featured in numerous regional and notional publications, including Comstock's Magazine and NewGeography.com. His insights are grounded in a 20 year career in both for-profit and nonprofit environments.
Born in Columbus, Ohio and a long time resident of Chicago, Michael builds on his extensive knowledge of systems thinking and social dynamics to offer fresh solutions to issues facing our nations cities and communities.
A voracious reader and lifetime learner, Michael has a B.A. in Sociology from the Ohio State University and a Master of Public Adminstration from the University of San Francisco. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and International Downtown Association. Michael was also named to the advisory board of the Places to Invest Initiative, located in Washington D.C.
